Mezzano Romantica International Festival 2109

Music

Ninth edition of the International Festival Mezzano Romantica, which returns with a rich program of events scheduled from spring to autumn 2019: musical, theatrical and choral events will take turns in a varied and interesting offer.

Trentino Music Festival di Mezzano Romantica is the key event, taking place in the Summer, in collaboration with the Music Academy Orchestra of New York, which will hold as usual its international summer courses in Primiero valley, where dozens of musicians, teachers and students will arrive from around the world.

The shows begin on Sunday, April 28 with the performance of the polyphonic choir Ottava Nota directed by Salvatore La Rosa.

Saturday, May 11 will be followed by a refined concert of viola and piano, with the violist Maurizio Barbetti, who performed in the most important theaters in the world, and the pianist Paolo Zannini.

On June 15 at 9 p.m., Master Shakespeare, a theatrical performance by and with Giulio Federico Janni will take place at the Tabià della Gemma: an ironic, grotesque and moving monologue, which runs through Shakespeare's entire work.

Trentino Music Festival per Mezzano Romantica 2019 - Concerts

The Music Academy International of New York, which has been presenting world-class training courses for many years, will return to Mezzano from July 3 to August 2 with an extremely varied musical offer, ranging from opera, musicals, orchestral concerts and chamber music. Singing students, in fact, will stage operas complete with direction, scenic design and costumes: planned La Clemenza di Tito by W.A. Mozart, Ariadne auf Naxos by Richard Strauss, Turn Of The Screw by Benjamin Britten.

The students' ability to sing, dance and act will be tested in the musicals Sister Act by Alan Menken&Glenn Slater and Into the Woods by Stephen Sondheim.

The instrumental section will then see the boys engaged in the orchestra of the Festival, which will perform in concerts that will propose the most important and challenging pieces of the classical and romantic orchestral repertoire. New in 2019 is the Dolomiti Choral Festival, during which Giacomo Puccini's Messa di Gloria for soloists, choir and orchestra will be performed.  Finally, students and professors will present numerous concerts of chamber music in various instrumental combinations.
