Stories, voices and tales: the industry of foreigners in Val di Fiemme from the eighteenth century to today

In these four meetings, the protagonists of the video interviews will retrace the history of the industry of foreigners in Val di Fiemme from the 18th century to the present day.

This cultural proposal, based on reflections, stories and analysis, anticipates some of the themes of the exhibition that will be set up in spring in Cavalese at the Palazzo della Magnifica Comunità di Fiemme.

An exhibition dedicated to the history of tourism in the valleys and which is based on another prestigious exhibition project entitled "From war to sustainable mobility: railways and cable transport in the historical Tyrol". A collective-territorial exhibition that will be hosted in various museums and institutions in Trentino, South Tyrol and North Tyrol thanks to funding provided by the Euregio and the Autonomous Province of Trento.

Part of this project will also be housed in the charming rooms of the former Bishop's Palazzo in Cavalese.

First event (Thursday 14 January): “Geologi, alpinisti e viaggiatori nelle dolomiti fiemmesi- fassane tra Settecento e i primi del Novecento” (Geologists, mountaineers and travellers in the Fiemme-Fassa Dolomites between the 18th and early 20th centuries), by Riccardo Decarli;

Second event (Thursday 21 January): “La Grande Strada delle Dolomiti e l’avvento del turismo nelle valli di Fiemme e Fassa” (The Great Road of the Dolomites and the advent of tourism in the Fiemme and Fassa vallleys), by Alessandro De Bertolini;

Third event (Thursday 28 January): “Il turismo termale in Trentino e in Val di Fiemme: le realtà di Cavelonte, Carano e Tesero” (Thermal tourism in Trentino and Val di Fiemme: Cavelonte, Carano and Tesero), by Elena Dai Prà;

Fourth event (Thursday 4 February): “Turismo e mobilità sostenibile tra compatibilità e contraddizioni” (Tourism and sustainable mobility between compatibility and contradictions), by Diego Cason.
