An 'exotic' find in the archaeological collections
with Maddalena Angelini and Matteo Rapanà

The last of the three lectures will present to the public some objects from the archaeological collection, starting with a particular Egyptian scarab.
In the Museum's storerooms are in fact kept curious archaeological finds, the result of spontaneous donations and chance discoveries, mainly in the first half of the last century, which form a significant part of the original core of the museum's collections.
Among these unusual exhibits are also 'exotic' objects, including an Egyptian-style human-headed scarab, which turned out to be a historical forgery from the late 19th century AD. How did it become part of the museum's collections?
Visitors will be guided through this story by Maddalena Angelini, MAG Museo Alto Garda, and director Matteo Rapanà.
