A young girl named Angelina is cleaning in the theater and is attracted by an elegant pair of women's shoes left on the stage. The theater is closing, however, and Angelina is not in time to leave when the scene comes alive animated by the appearance of the brilliant maestro Gioachino Rossini.

The great musician must compose a new opera but still cannot find a story for his musical flair, while a tireless appetite distracts him from his work.

He is soon joined on stage by librettist Jacopo Ferretti, a skilled poet and lyricist who laments that he cannot work without the musical inspiration of maestro Rossini.

Angelina, a modern-day girl, with her voice and strong personality, will help the two nineteenth-century artists combine music, words and song in an opera that has become world-famous: “Cinderella i.e., the triumph of goodness.”
