Winner of the Fringe Contest, promoted by Oper.a 2021, the Company Abbondanza-Bertoni proposes a visionary and dystopic opera, which brings together the experiments of two giants of the 21st century: Arnold Schönberg and David Lynch.
Just imagine: in a claustrophobic apartment three creatures disguised as men live a repetitive, obsessive everyday life. Without communicating, a sort of dialogue takes place between them, but theirs is a meaningless language, and it is constantly being interrupted.
The Kammersymphonie no. 1 op.9 by Schönberg is played in the background. The score is repeated and distorted until it reaches the white noise. Between music, dance and theatre, Clown Time tells the alienation of our everyday life and asks us: do we really want to be like this?
