Economy. The cost of war
Gianni Toniolo

The war ended the first globalization: was it really a Belle Epoque? No one had expected such a long and expensive war. How much did it cost? How was it funded and what were its effects in the postwar period? Who really paid for the war? The economic war had no victors but only losers, why? All these questions have to be answered in order to understand why it was necessary to wait until 1951 to have real peace in Europe.
