European Heritage Days - Free guide visits

On the occasion of European Heritage Days, the War Museum proposes two free guided tours of its collections on Saturday 28 September and Sunday 29 September.

The 2024 Italian theme “Heritage on the Road, is an invitation to discover and rediscover paths, communication routes, connections and networks that, today or in the past, have made possible relations and exchanges between peoples and cultures and contributed to the formation of our identity.

For this reason, the War Museum offers three guided tours of the collections that will go across the rooms dedicated to the 19th and 20th centuries, dwelling in particular on the section “A continent on the move,” which tells of the forced displacement of populations in World War I.
You'll listen to stories of the Trentino combatants sent to the various war fronts and the refugees who were forced to reach places even very far from their countries of origin and remain there for the long years of the conflict.

Through the personal stories of soldiers and civilians, we will try to understand how the objects made in the trenches or in the refugee camps often constituted the only link with one's roots and identity.
