FAI Creative workshops | Let me tell you about the Castle: the Middle Ages
Four days dedicated to families and children with special visits and animations, a leap back in time to discover the customs and traditions at the time of the Castelbarco family.
SUNDAY 4, 11, 18 AND 25 AUGUST 2024
On Sundays in August, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Castle of Avio recounts the Middle Ages: an exciting journey into the past that will lead visitors to discover life inside its walls.
For all four days, it will be possible to visit the Castle on one's own (with an audio guide to download on the smartphone included in the admission ticket) or with the 3 guided tours scheduled at fixed times (11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.). A treasure hunt for children, included in the admission ticket, will also be available throughout the day.
Visitors will have the possibility to picnic within the Castle walls, in the gardens and courtyard of the Baronial Palace, by buying a basket prepared for the occasion by "Locanda al Castello di Avio" Inn .
PROGRAMME
Sunday 4 and 11 August
Two Sundays dedicated to families and the youngest with the setting up of a small medieval camp, to understand the ancient defensive strategies; children will have the opportunity to join a treasure hunt inside the castle walls and be real protagonists of the visit. At each hour the Compagnia della Stella will entertain children with stories, tales and legends of the castle.
Sunday 18 and 25 August
Special "Ancient Games at the Castle": an incredible opportunity to discover the spaces and history through games of the past: our staff awaits you with bag throwing, kubb, tug-of-war, sack race and many board games.

From 10.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. (last recommended entrance for family and children's activities 5.00 p.m., closing time 5.30 p.m.)
INFORMATION
Dogs are allowed, always on a leash.
We recommend wearing rubber-soled shoes, appropriate clothing and carrying a torch for the walk to the car park after sunset.
Accessibility
The area presents some difficulties for people with reduced mobility or wheelchair users.

HOW TO GET THERE
Car park
At the base of the castle, a 350-metre walk. To reach the manor house, walk along the path between the olive grove and the forest.
We recommend the use of rubber-soled shoes.
By car
Brennero A22 motorway, Ala-Avio exit, between Verona and Trento, then follow the signs.
By train
Verona - Brenner line, Avio station (approx. 2.5 km).
By bus
From Trento, Sabbionara d'Avio stop (about 1 km).
