Flicorno d'oro (The “Golden Flugelhorn”)

Peculiarity of the contest: some pieces have to be chosen and performed by every band participating, according to the category it belongs to. Such pieces are partly composed by the members of the panel of judges, so the bands will have the opportunity to be evaluated by the authors themselves.

The winning band will be awarded on Sunday 20 March during the final ceremony. The prizes are 18 Yamaha instruments – 6 categories, 3 prizes each.

Some side events will enrich the weekend: on Saturday 19 March, in the “Sala Belvedere” in Riva del Garda, musical director Carnevali will teach a lesson, in collaboration with the students of the Conservatory of Udine, and some Yamaha specialists will teach a “First aid” course for all instrumentalists.

In conclusion, the “Golden Flugelhorn” is a cultural festival, but it also attracts a lot of tourists in Trentino: over the past contests, more than 800 marching bands arrived in Riva del Garda.
