In 2000 the Clay Institute has selected seven "millennium problems" among all mathematical questions, which are still unsolved, and has offered a prize of one million dollars for the solution to each problem.
Among the seven problems, one of geometry has to be solved: the Hodge conjecture. What is it about? And why is it so difficult?
