That the world is marked by deep differences of all kinds - cultural, linguistic, religious - is a matter of fact; nothing new about it. But people’s capacity of accepting this reality is not to be taken for granted. Today there’s much talk of "identity", but have we ever really thought about its meaning? Not even twins are identical, nobody is like anyone else, yet we always talk about "our" identity. We should learn to reflect on the causes of diversity of humanity in order to understand the concept of culture.
