Memorie di un mondo sommerso | Memories of an underwater world
Direction by Philippe Nicolet, Switzerland 2021, 58'
The documentary shows the daily life of Neolithic and Bronze Age farmers in the Alpine region, who had to permanently adapt to the climate changes in their environment. In these submerged villages, what is exceptional is the enormous preservation of vestiges, such as household objects or the remains of their dwellings, which can be dated and reconstructed with great accuracy. In 2011, 111 of these archaeological sites, including Fiavé and Ledro, were declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the six Alpine states.
