Noarna Castle

At sunset you’ll breathe a romantic atmosphere of past times, protected by the walls of ancient castles, keepers of a centennial history. Noarna Castle will be enlivened with excellent food and nibbles, studied for the most refined and hard to please palates and made magical by the musical notes of the Nuovo Ensemble of Trento.

Noarna Castle

The castle’s history is fascinating: in 1486 the powerful Lodron family seized it from the Castelbarco family and transformed it from a defensive fortress into being mainly used as a manor house. Inside are the fortified tower with the main tower, two guard areas and the prisons where various women of the valley were held during the famous witch trials of Nogaredo (1646-1647). Since the 18th century the Noarna Castle was uninhabitated for a long time; the Lodron family preferred to live in a palazzo in Nogaredo and let their peasants stay there. Nowadays it's a private property and it's well conserved and can be visited.

TASTING

During the aperitif you'll taste a selection of products chosen by Strada del Vino e dei Sapori del Trentino: wine produced by the Noarna Castle, grappa by the Marzadro Distillery, bread by the bakery Panificio Moderno, cured meats by the Moschini butcher shop, cheese of the Caseificio degli Altipiani e del Vezzena, Astro fish products of Astro as well as La Trentina apples and L'Acqua Levico.
