Cornelis van der Beck

For the series of events "comodaMENTEinMUSEO. Aperitivi d'arte" (Leisurely at the museum 2017), Luciana Giacomelli presents an original and fascinating figure, little known today: the Flemish sculptor Cornelis van der Beck, who has carried out valuable alabaster sculptures in Trento, in which executive sophistication and baroque whims combine with realism, sometimes pathetic and grotesque, typical of the Flemish art.
Luciana Giacomelli
Conservator-restorer at the museum, L. Giacomelli has worked for many years at the Department for Cultural Heritage as a historic-artistic officer. She has collaborated with the University of Trento, is curator of exhibitions and author of important essays and research.
Students of the "Bonporti" Conservatory of Trento - Alborada Trio -, Federica Andretti (flute), Valeria Ottaviani (violin), Amanda Vieitez (cello), will play music by F.J. Haydn and F. Devienne.
Finally, during a convivial moment with a drink prepared by the "Cooperativa Samuele" at the museum café “Barone al Castello”, it is possible to discuss with Ms Giacomelli, asking questions and sharing ideas.
