The Necks are an Australian cult jazz band renown on a planetary scale.

Theirs is a peculiar jazz, in some ways akin to cultured minimalism and in others to the avant-garde of rock.

They've issued about twenty albums, and in their live performances they venture into improvisation on canons, creating abstract and evocative music.
