Trio Dafne [ Qual Piuma al Vento Festival]

The protagonists of the first concert are two authoresses, who are awarded the record for women in music: the German pianist Clara Schumann, who was esteemed the best instrumentalist during the 19th Century over three generations of pianists and the English violist Rebecca Clarke, who was one of the first woman working as an orchestral musician at the beginning of the Twentieth Century.

Their works will be performed by the Trio Dafne, a formation born in 2009 from the desire of three female musicians from Como – they combined their musical qualities with their common enthusiasm in order to expand on and to divulge the piano trio repertoire, composed by authoresses. Thus, we will discover Clara Schumann’s style through a work of German Romanticism, at intervals melancholic, characterised by a kind of cyclicity inside. We will appreciate the work regarded today as the major one by Rebecca Clarke, characterised by rich harmonies and sophisticated rhythms that recall French Impressionism.
