Traviata - Artemis Danza

The Traviata, a performance dedicated to the famous Maestro Giuseppe Verdi, produced by Compagnia Artemis Danza/Monica Casadei.

The Traviata represents the first chapter of a courageous project dedicated to Verdi by Monica Casadei, an eclectic choreographer from Emilia who has trained between Italy, England, France and several sojourns in the East. Her goal is to translate into the language of dance the most celebrated melodramas of Italy's most beloved composer.

The result onstage is a choreographic journey, in which dance and opera duet, giving substance to a flow of images unburdened by any desire for didactic adherence, yet intertwined with Violetta's drama. A journey in which the loving sentiment of those who hope, vibrates, and is tragically linked to the feeling of knowing that everything ends; in the background, the conflict between individual and society, public façade and private feeling goes on.
