Trento Festival of Economics online - Globalisation and international relations at the time of Covid 19
dialogue between Andrea Fracasso and Nathalie Tocci
The Covid19 pandemic has severely affected an international context which was already scarred by the crisis of the international liberal order established after World War II.
Despite the clear need to adopt coordinated and cooperative measures to limit the spread of the virus and to moderate its economic and social impact, the world's major powers have exacerbated the confrontation, accelerating a process of de-globalization.
The European Union stands out in this context and the attempt to assume a more central role in the international system is an incentive to respond more cohesively to the pandemic crisis and other common challenges.
