Music

UPCYCLING MUSIC is a musical project of Max Castlunger, a renowned percussionist and multi-instrumentalist from South Tyrol.

For more than two decades, Max has been building sound objects inspired by the world's traditional instruments through the creative reuse of various discarded materials. At the base of all the instruments are furniture, bins, canisters, plastic tubes, which through skillful craftsmanship are transformed into tubophones, gongs, xylophones, flutes, psaltery, drums, drums of various kinds, and more.

In addition to an exhibition dimension, the new instruments are played by the UPCYCLING BAND, a formation consisting of multi-instrumentalists Max Castlunger, Mirko Pedrotti, Georg Malfertheiner and Manfred Gampenrieder.

More than 50 unique musical instruments are used on stage, totally original and part of the UPCYCLING MUSIC collection, capable of bringing to life sounds as unique and unexpected as their nature.

A journey in the sound that is inspired by the world's diverse musical cultures and takes the listener to distant lands.
