Young Talents: allegro con brio

Lorenzo Calovi, piano
Music by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Bruni
Also in 2025 Ars Modi continues the “Young Talents” festival, which is now in its 3rd year, with the purpose of promoting the brightest musicians of the latest generation, who stood out in Competitions, Conservatories, in a national and international context. The evening star will be Trentino pianist Lorenzo Calovi. He trained at the Bonporti Conservatory of Trento under the guidance of Roberto Melini, Maria Rosa Corbolini, Antonella Costa, and was awarded in several national and international competitions.
After two chorales by Bach, transcribed one by Myra Hess and one by Ferruccio Busoni, Beethoven's Sonata Op. 31 No. 3 will be performed; it is not as well known as its more celebrated sister pieces, but no less noteworthy: one of the German genius' most varied and eclectic compositions, it stands out for its articulate structure and decisive, brilliant pithiness. After that, three “surrealist” waltzes by Trentino composer Edoardo Bruni will be performed, acting as a prelude to the finale, entirely dedicated to Frédéric Chopin, with four waltzes and the poetic and very elegant Third Ballade.
