on 20 January 2021

From 20 January 2021 the exhibition “German Nazi Death Camp Konzentrationslager Auschwitz" can be visited at the "Officina dell'Autonomia", in via Zanella 1/a in Trento. It's part of the “Living Memory” project, the first Festival dedicated to the International Holocaust Remembrance Day, organised by the association Terra del Fuoco Trentino in collaboration with the Fondazione Museo storico del Trentino (Trentino history museum foundation) and supported by the Autonomous Province of Trento.
From 21 January, THE GALLERIES reopen with health and safety measures in place.
Four exhibitions are to be seen:
the Black Gallery hosts “Sguardi sulla montagna: verso i 150 anni della Sat (1872-2022) ” (Glimpses on the mountain: towards the 150th anniversary of the S.A.T. Alpine Club - 1872/2022), an exhibition promoted together with the Alpine Club of Trento, which recounts how the mountain has been perceived in Trentino from the second half of the 19th century to the present day.
The White Gallery houses "Chiara Lubich, città mondo" (Chiara Lubich, City World) , an exhibition dedicated to the founder of the Focolare Movement, one of the most influential spiritual, cultural and social figures of the twentieth century, who was recently featured in the RAI 1 TV drama "L'amore vince tutto" (Love conquers all), directed by Giacomo Campiotti.
In the White Gallery you can also see “Uffizi in Passeier: chi protegge l'arte in guerra?” (Uffizi in Passaier: Who protects art in war?), an exhibition that tells the story of the 293 works of the Florentine museums, including paintings by Rubens, Titian, Caravaggio and Botticelli, hidden in Val Passiria: an incredible but almost forgotten story that involved the German Wehrmacht, Mussolini's fascist authorities and the US-Army.
Another exhibition, “Badilisha: storie di dipendenza e cambiamento” (Badilisha: stories of addiction and change) is a photographic journey conceived by the Fontana Foundation onlus, which recounts the problematic world of alcoholism in Kenya through the touching portraits of photographer Andrea Signori and the documentary by film director Marco Zuin.
