The Vallagarina and the Great World War

A new map to learn about the places of the war

The Vallagarina preserves still today several evidences of the First World War, fought in this territory from May 1915 to the armistice of 1918.

In Rovereto, besides the War Museum, there are other important institutions dedicated to the memory of the war: twenty thousand fallen Austrians and Italians rest in the great Shrine of Rovereto. The Peace Bell rings a hundred times every night as a warning against war.
On Monte Pasubio, on Monte Zugna, on Monte Baldo, in Gresta Valley, as well as in Adige Valley, there are many historical sites reachable with suggestive walks along the Path of Peace.

Among the itineraries you can choose between short walks suitable for everyone or more challenging hikes.
To find out about the places and itineraries you can download the Great War map in Vallagarina, or visit the page dedicated to the Places of the Great War at the website of Rovereto, Vallagarina and Monte Baldo tourist boards .
