Austerlitz, by Sergei Loznitsa (Germany, 2016, 94 minutes)

Special event by the Centro servizi culturali S. Chiara of Trento on the occasion of the International Holocaust Remembrance Day

Cinema

Certain places are preserved because of the painful memories of which they are evidence, like the Nazi death factories, designed to burn human beings to ashes. Over the years these areas have become places of remembrance open to the public and welcome thousands of tourists each year. Austerlitz focuses on visitors to the Sachsenhausen concentration camp, just outside Berlin; it's a place full of questions that closely concern our present time and our memory.

Sergei Loznitsa is the author of 18 documentary and 2 fiction films, which are celebrated internationally. Austerlitz is his latest masterpiece.
A meeting with Loznitsa and the curator of the series of meetings, Sergio Fant, will take place at 18.00 in the Basement of the Auditorium Melotti.
