A Dialogue with...The Art Dealers of New York

exhibition

The Galleria Raffaelli is pleased to announce the new  Raffaelli Viewing Room A Dialogue with...The Art Dealers of New York, inspired by the book of the same name by Alan Jones. The recent publication of the book in Italian translation "I galleristi di New York", published by Castelvecchi, has encouraged the search of a connection between the Trento gallery anche the New York galleries, through artists in common and an approach to the job made of direct relationships and shared planning. The sharp view of Alan Jones, a fine American art critic, and his unconventional writing, narrates both the stories of the top gallery owners interviewed, and Giordano Raffaelli, the only Italian gallery owner to whom the author has turned his attention with the book (and exhibition) of 2018 "9NEWYORK”. This catalogue opens with a conversation focused on its constant promotion of the artists of the East Village of the eighties in Italy. From the words of Tony Shafrazi, Pat Hearn, Paul Kasmin, and Earl McGrath (among others), come to light the portraits of the artists Donald Baechler, James Brown, Peter Schuyff and Ronnie Cutrone. We have selected them for this Raffaelli Viewing Room, placing us in an ideal dialogue with their American gallery owners through their works.
