Amphitryon by Molière

Meeting entitled "Amphitryon by Molière" with Paolo Tamassia, Professor of French Literature at the University of Trento, and readings curated by Emanuele Cerra and Clara Setti.

With his Amphitryon, performed for the first time in Paris in 1668, Molière began his Plautus' revisitations which continued with The Miser. References to the aristocratic society of the time - and perhaps even to the adultery of Louis XIV with the Marquise of Montespan - make this comedy a lively satire with noir implications on the customs and dynamics of France in the 17th century.
