BARCELONA GIPSY BALKAN ORCHESTRA

They come from Serbia, France, Ukraine, Italy, Greece and, of course, Catalonia: so the members of the Barcelona Gipsy balKan Orchestra represent a good slice of Europe and their music can’t help but be wide-ranging. They start out from klezmer and gypsy textures, to arrive at a sound mixture that takes in influences from Jewish, Ashkenazi and Sephardic, as well as Ottoman and Arab traditions.
