Before Falstaff
At the basis of the creation of the famous Shakespearean character, a fat knight and braggart who appears in Henry IV, Henry V and The Merry Wives of Windsor - later taken up in different ways in the opera production of the eighteenth-nineteenth century - there are a series of models of the ancient theatrical tradition that start from Greek Aristophanes to reach Latin Plautus.
With: Masolino D’Amico (University of Turin) has taught History of Theatre at the University of Turin and is a theatre critic; Margherita Rubino (University of Genoa) teaches Theatre and dramaturgy of antiquity and is a theatre critic.

The course is recognized as refresher course for teachers of the Autonomous Province of Trento.
