Building with nature. Building Sustainable Futures/Rebirth of the Dancing Forest, Rocco Yim

The conference Building with nature. Costruire futuri sostenibili (Building with nature. Building Sustainable Futures), organised in collaboration with Fondazione italiana di Bioarchitettura (Italian Bioarchitecture Foundation), Calchèra San Giorgio and Arte Sella, will take place on Friday 16 September .

The conference stems from the conviction that the association between architecture and nature has distant roots. In recent years, there has been a growing awareness of an attitude protracted for centuries by mankind to the detriment of an earth that has shown it can no longer sustain it. This is why the use of eco-sustainable and bio-compatible materials in architecture is one of the measures to reduce the impact of constructions on the planet.

On the occasion of this event, Rebirth of the Dancing Forest will be presented to the public. It's the new installation by architect Rocco Yim, carried out in collaboration with the Milan Polytechnic in the garden of Villa Strobele, an area dedicated to architecture, 
The installation recreates the moment when the trees were broken by the storm Vaia, becoming a memorial of what happened and at the same time a declaration of hope in the aftermath of the natural disaster. Rebirth of the Dancing Forest reminds us of the fragility of the environment that surrounds us, but also of the strength of will, the resilience that allows us to go beyond and find new solutions.
