Choral concert for Amnesty International
The concert traditionally offered during the Christmas period by the Association Laboratorio Musicale di Ravina in support of Amnesty International and the defence of human rights will take place exceptionally this spring.

The event, organised in collaboration with the Giulia Turcati association, the Il Continuo association and the Amnesty Group of Rovereto and Alto Garda, is part of the "Ripartiamo da Bach!" (Let's start from Bach!) project, financed by the Fondazione Caritro. The Laboratorio Musicale polyphonic choir, accompanied on the piano by Valentina Moser, will perform a selection of choral pieces from Bach's Mass in B Minor under the direction of Maurizio Postai.
The musical programme will be completed by some spiritual and contemporary pieces performed by the youth choir of the Steiner School in Trento, conducted by the music director himself.
During the evening, Amnesty International activists will present and invite the public to sign two appeals concerning Russian aggression against Ukraine. In particular, the first one asks for international law to be respected, for civilians to be protected and for the aggression to be stopped. The second calls for an end to the repression of the rights of peaceful assembly, expression and association currently in force in Russia since the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine on 24 February. According to Russian human rights defenders, more than 15,000 people have been arrested in Russia for peacefully protesting against the invasion of Ukraine.
At the end of the concert, Amnesty activists and choristers will invite the audience to participate in an action called by Amnesty International Italy to demand an end to the repression of dissent in Russia. In Pomarolo, as in 30 other Italian cities, placards will be raised with some of the slogans shown during the protests in Russian cities.
