Cultural Connections: summer meetings at the Museum of the Val di Sole civilization in Malè (5, 19, 26 August)

Meetings and conferences

The Study Center for the Val di Sole and the management committee of the Museo della Civiltà Solandra (Museum of the Val di Sole Civilization) of Malè organise a series of meetings (on Fridays, at 20.45) entitled: Connessioni culturali. Vivere e raccontare i Musei etnografici del Trentino (Cultural connections. Living and recounting the ethnographic museums of Trentino).  

After the successful event in 2020, this summer the Museum hosts a cultural festival to make known stories, personalities and interesting facts of two ethnographic museums in Valsugana (but with interesting connections with the Val di Sole) and to present an important book, the Atlante etnografico del paesaggio trentino (Ethnographic Atlas of Trentino's Landscape), edited by Antonella Mott and published in 2021 by the Museo degli Usi e Costumi della Gente Trentina (Trentino Folklife Museum) of San Michele all'Adige.

The first event (5 August) is entitled Da Jacques Marinelli al Museo del paracarro a Canezza (From Jacques Marinelli to the Bollard Museum in Canezza). With journalist and historian Alberto Mosca, editor of the Newsletter of the Study Center for the the Val di Sole (La Val), and Dario Pegoretti, creator in 2006 of the Bollard Museum, which opened in Canezza di Pergine in 2008.

Second event (19 August): book presentation of Atlante etnografico del paesaggio trentino (Ethnographic Atlas of Trentino's Landscape). With Salvatore Ferrari, president of the management committee of the Museo della Civiltà Solandra (Museum of the Val di Sole Civilization) of Malè, Antonella Mott, author of the book, and with Giovanni Kezich, former director of the Museo degli Usi e Costumi della Gente Trentina (Trentino Folklife Museum) in San Michele all'Adige, and now director of the mission unit called "Ethnographic, small museums and ecomuseums Network".

The third event (26 August) is entitled: Flavio Faganello e la “sua” Casa degli spaventapasseri al Mulino Angeli (Flavio Faganello and "his" Scarecrow House at the Angeli Mill) in Marter di Roncegno Terme. With Marta Baldessari,  deputy director of the Museo degli strumenti musicali di Roncegno (Roncegno Museum of Musical Instruments), and Alessia Sartori, councillor for tourism, sports and enhancement of the territory and local products of the Municipality of Roncegno Terme - who will present the "House of Scarecrows" at the Angeli Mill in Marter - and Romina Zanon, visual artist and PhD candidate in history, criticism and conservation of cultural heritage at the University of Padua, who will focus on photographer Flavio Faganello (Terzolas, 1933 - Trento, 2005).
