Earth Day

On Thursday 22 April is Earth day, the 51st official anniversary of the birth of modern ecological movements. On this occasion, Extinction Rebellion joins the international celebrations with various events all over Italy, also in the North-East, in Bolzano, Trento and Verona.

Each year, the World Earth Day deals with a different environmental problem. This year's theme is Restore our Earth, which we can freely translate with: "Let's repair the damage done so far". The theme of 'Restore Our Earth' focuses on restoring the world's ecosystems through natural processes, emerging green technologies and innovative thinking.

❖ An afternoon of celebration will take place in Trento, on 22 Thursday from 17:30 in the Parco delle Albere.

❖ There will be dances led by the Murga Trentinerante.

❖ There will also be readings by local organisations involved in safeguarding and restoring biodiversity, such as La Pimpinella and Orto Villano.

Other events:

❖ The documentary "Disobbedisco!" (I will disobey!) will be broadcast online (with subtitles available in Italian, English and German) in Bolzano on Wednesday 21 at 20:30. Further info on the fb page @XR.BZ.st
❖ Performance by Red Rebels - priestesses in the red of XR who symbolise the blood that binds us to all the living - in Verona, in Piazza Bra, on Saturday 24 from 16:00.
❖ As a side event to the performance there will be a sit-in with Fridays for Future, Legambiente and other associations in Verona.
