European Mills Days: watermills open in Trentino
In the European Heritage Year of the Mills, open door day for mills and forges on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 May
Watermills, sawmills and forges working in the past with the energy produced by water, will open their door to the public everywhere in Trentino.
In some cases, the visit to the mill includes an educational workshop; in some other cases, the visit offers the opportunity for a walk along the paths that lead to the factories.
The European Mills Days, proposed in France in 2007 and promoted in Italy since 2012 by the Associazione Italiana Amici dei Mulini Storici - AIAMS (Italian Association Friends of historical mills), focus this year on the machinery used to prepare paper from cotton or linen tatters.
