Family Festival 2022

The 2022 Family Festival aims to deepen the connections between social cohesion policies and family welfare ones within the current global context, which is undergoing exceptional events and profound transformations.

The Covid-19 pandemic, the humanitarian emergency and the energy issues caused by the conflict in Ukraine are disrupting the existing socio-economic order, thus seriously affecting the population.

One thing is certain: the pandemic, energy and military crises will need a new development model.

These profound and unimaginable crises will lead to reform development policies thanks to a new outlook. This requires long-term strategies focusing on individuals, families and social cohesion. Advocacy policies need to be put in place to strengthen communities and enable them to meet their members' needs, as well as to prevent and combat every form of exclusion and inequality in accessing essential services.

Fundamental elements that characterize the levels of local social cohesion are the quality of social relations, economic wellbeing, equal opportunities, access to education, culture and sport, social inclusion, non-discrimination, environmental care and trust. Policies on family well-being belong to these factors. They generate social cohesion.

The Festival aims to promote scientific debate with the main institutions and organisations that have developed knowledge and skills on the connections between social cohesion policies and family ones.

It will be a week rich in meetings, conferences and seminars giving voice to cohesion policies at regional, national and European level. This will hopefully increase knowledge and facilitate the exchange of good practices.
