In the International Day for Biological Diversity, on Sunday 22nd May from 15.00 to 19.00, the MUSE organises a Festival to celebrate the variety of life on Earth.

During the afternoon there will be workshops, conferences and activities for adults and children inside the MUSE.

The event will particularly focus on the topic of the legumes, with the opening of the new exhibition of the vegetable gardens of the MUSE, that in the International Year of Pulses sponsored in 2016 by FAO is entirely dedicated to beans, chickpeas, peas, broad beans, grass peas and to over 500 varieties of legumes.

Presentation corner: the institutions involved in the conservation and enhancement of the biodiversity introduce themselves.

Activities

  • Animal biodiversity and adaptation” organised by the MUSE. Naturalized animals, fur and feathers, teeth and beaks: an overview of the traditional species of the Alpine regions and their adaptations as hint to talk about biodiversity and conservation.
  • “Guinness insects” organised by the MUSE. Discover which is the strongest, fastest or heaviest insect… in the world!
  • “The conservation of the bird life in the agricultural environment” organised by LIPU
  • “How to survive to the mating season: active protection of the migration of amphibians in Trentino” organised by WWF.
  • “Legumes information desk” organised by MUSE. Take the traditional legumes to the MUSE to support the rescue and conservation of this variety.
  • “Grow a plant and pass the word” organised by Morena Paola Carli
  • “Exhibition of legumes” organised by MUSE and in collaboration with Slow Food Trentino Alto Adige and Mandacarù Altromercato.
  • “Legume tasting” organised by Slow Food Trentino Alto Adige
  • Bio-diverse picnic” organised by MUSE

Biopop. The show of the variety by and with Duccio Canestrini

All aboard the Ark. Yellow tomatoes, jellyfish, South American Indian, pokemon, gods, odd animals. Biopop is a multimedia show dedicated to species and cultures on the verge of a breakdown. So to say, living beings which are kind but in a different way
