Flores de musica - Baroque concert

Music

For the first time in its programme, Ars Modi presents a baroque concert featuring the bassoon, an instrument that is perhaps little known to most people, but which is extremely rich in timbre and potential, and has an important history in the musical repertoire.

The unusual duo formed by Steno Boesso (bassoon) and Enrico Zanovello (harpsichord) will provide an opportunity to get to know a unique repertoire that draws on authors from Baroque Europe. The programme offers a florilegium of pieces that, starting from the Iberian peninsula, will move on to Germany, Italy and France. The title of the programme is inspired by the extensive collection of musical pieces by Franciscan friar Martin y Coll, from which the precious composition Las folias is taken, composed on a Spanish theme of the same name.
