Fucina Arte Sella. Art is life

During the long lockdown caused by health emergency, the first viola at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Danilo Rossi, rock violinist, Alessandro Quarta, world-famous cellist, Mario Brunello and actor Alessio Boni met and worked together with a shared goal: to protect the live show, a reality, a heritage, a need of everyone that cannot be replaced by digital shows.

With the return and reopening of the live performance venues, the quartet has transformed the project L'ARTE È VITA (ART IS LIFE) into a musical recital - a co-production between Arte Sella and ForlìMusica - entitled "Exercises and Variations".

The first dates, in national premiere, will take place at Arte Sella on 27, 28 and 29 June 2020 and at the Arena dei Musei San Domenico Forlì, on 1 July 2020.

After many months in which live music has had to stop, facing a totally new reality and a complex relationship with the digital world, the show wants to bring back to the centre the live listening experience and bring musicians and listeners back to the very origins of music. In fact, what we lived in these months is a unique opportunity to rethink established practices in a creative way.

The event at Arte Sella will be held in the unique setting of the exhibition area of Malga Costa, where spectators, equipped with wireless headphones, can listen live to the prologue of the concert streaming, walking through nature, discovering the works of art scattered in the woods, crossing a boundless natural theatre along with listening to music.

Finally, in an atmosphere of great intimacy, in the presence of a work of art, they will have the opportunity to watch the live show, which will offer a new journey between the "Variations" Goldberg by J. S. Bach (version for string trio) and the "stylistic exercises" by R.Queneau.
