Giovanni Segantini is one of the most fascinating and charismatic figures in late 19th-century European painting. Born in Arco di Trento in 1858, he lived an intense and tormented life that led him to seek the vertigo of heights until his early death in 1899. The film Giovanni Segantini - Magic of Light retraces his biographical events through the words of his rich correspondence, the images of the places where he lived and the works he created, creating a visual essay capable of introducing us to the soul of an extraordinary artist.

Director Christian Labhart was born in Zurich in 1953. He started working as a cinematographer and assistant cameraman for Condor Film AG. Since 2000 he has been working as an independent filmmaker.
