Il giardino di carta (The paper garden)

Anthology from the archive offices of Trento, in memory of Francesca Cavazzana Romanelli

exhibition

Francesca Cavazzana Romanelli, illustrious archivist, historian and culture manager, was a great friend, teacher and advisor for the archivists of Trento. At the beginning of the '90s she collaborated with the University of Studies of Trento and with the main local institutes (Department for Cultural Heritage of Trento, Mart of Rovereto, Archive Office of the Municipality of Trento, Tridentine Diocesan Archive), by promoting innovative projects and contributing decisively to the professional growth of all those who had the chance and privilege to work with her.

For the first anniversary of her death, here’s the exhibition “Il giardino di carta. Florilegio da archivi trentini in ricordo di Francesca Cavazzana Romanelli” (The paper garden. Anthology from the archive offices of Trento, in memory of Francesca Cavazzana Romanelli). It’s an exhibition of archival documents concerning the theme of green, vegetable gardens, flowers and plants, to which Francesca dedicated a lovely passion, even greater in the last years of her life.

The items on display offer noteworthy historic proofs linked to botanic classification, fruit and vegetable production, planning and creation of green areas, but they also express all their decorative, ornamental and symbolic value through their numerous plant and flower representations.
