In our hearts no cross is missing

A day to remember the casualties of Trentino in the Great War

Cultural exhibitions and events

By means of the Province’s Council Decision no. 11 of September 2017, the Autonomous Province of Trento established Trentino’s Great War casualties Day on 14 October.

For this occasion, in collaboration with the Italian War History Museum of Rovereto and the Trentino History Museum Foundation, the Autonomous Province of Trento has presented a schedule starting with a conference on Saturday 13 October. Dedicated to the historic events that led to the end of the war and to signing the peace agreements, this conference, with the Austrian historian Gunda Barth-Scalmani and the Italian researcher Andrea Di Michele, will take place at Palazzo Pizzini in Ala and it will be open to the public.

The opening ceremony of the Memorial dedicated to Trentino’s Great War casualties will take place at the Italian War History Museum in Rovereto on Sunday 14 October. It’s a multimedia installation about the war memories and it will be located in the memorial monument of Casteldante later on (it is being restored at the moment).

The events will end on Wednesday 17 October in Trento, where there will be a ceremony in memory of all the Great War casualties, first in Piazza Dante and then at the Palazzo della Provincia.
