Kid Pass Days: archaeology events

Events for families on Sunday 12 May at the Sas Underground Archaeological Space and the Roman Villa of Orpheus in Trento, at the Rhaetian Museum in Sanzeno and at the Pile Dwelling Museum in Fiavé

Spreading the accessibility of child-friendly culture is the objective of "Kid Pass Days", the event dedicated to families scheduled for Saturday 12 May all over Italy.

The museums curated by the Archaeological Heritage Office of the UMSt | Provincial Department for Cultural Heritage and Activities are also taking part in the initiative: 

the TRIDENTVM S.A.S.S. - Spazio Archeologico Sotterraneo del Sas | Sas Underground Archaeological Space and the Villa romana | Roman Villa of Orpheus in Trento, the Museo Retico | Rhaetian Museum in Sanzeno (Val di Non), the  Museo delle Palafitte | Pile Dwelling Museum in Fiavé will offer families several activities, guided tours and workshops to get to know, while having fun, interesting aspects and facts of the life of our ancestors in ancient times together with the archaeologists of the Educational Services.

In Fiavé, where the pile-dwelling site on the UNESCO World Heritage List is located, the meeting is at 14:30 at the Pile dwelling Museum with “100% milk”, a workshop for families to learn about dairy production in the pile-dwelling villages of Fiavé-Carera (free admission, booking required: online or by phone no. 334 6807276. Admission with fee for adults).

On the other hand, the TRIDENTVM S.A.S.S. - Sas Underground Archaeological Space and the Roman Villa of Orpheus in Trento propose at 15.00: “In search of mysterious animals: from the S.A.S.S. to the Roman Villa of Orpheus,” a fun game that will lead families to discover the ancient Tridentum by following the tracks of animals that are hidden in the two archaeological sites (free admission, booking required by phone no. 0461 230171. Admission with fee for adults).

“Shaping the past: clay workshop” is the activity scheduled at 15.00 at the Rhaetian Museum in Sanzeno. Children and adults alike will be invited on an adventurous journey into the well of time to go in search of the clues that will lead to discover the secrets of working with clay and finally try their hand at working with it (free admission, booking required by phone no. 333 4686682. Admission with fee for adults).

“Kid Pass Days" is a nationwide initiative involving 120 museums, cultural venues, castles, planetariums, archaeological parks and associations offering more than 150 events.
