La couleur

Italio Bressan and Mauro Cappelletti

exhibition
Italo Bressan [ Fondazione E. Salvadori-Zanatta]

The exhibition is thought as a dialogue between the works of Mario Cappelletti and Italo Bressan, two of the greatest abstract artists in Trentino. With over thirty years of career, they managed to engage in a wider cross-cultural dialogue in the Italian as well as in the international context (especially in the German world). In this background they managed to consolidate their independence and originality in the formal as well as in the theoretical contents that their works imply.

On the one hand the exhibition, hosted in the nineteenth-century Villa Salvadori-Zanatta, is a tribute to these two artists; on the other hand it is the opportunity to arrange an unusual and fascinating tour: in fact the viewers can appreciate and draw a parallel between the two artists, whose works belong to different cycles and periods. Their pictorial practice, supported by different poetical theories, revolves around the colour and its formal and expressive potential.
