Language is power
What role do words play in influencing our perception of reality?

We live in a world dominated by words, which fill our lives through an increasing number of channels, especially digital ones.
The apparent volatility of language is daily belied by concrete examples of how words are often used not to communicate and create knowledge and bonds, but to divide, to create an untrue reality, to hurt the opponent or the adversary.
Every year, the International Women's Day proposes in this context a chance for reflection on the themes of equal opportunities and enhancement of gender differences; in order to be achieved through a real change in our way of thinking and living, they need the right words too.
This is why the Municipality of Trento and the Provincial Commission for Equal Opportunities between Women and Men are proposing to citizens a reflection on how words influence our perception of reality and how reality can be modified through an appropriate use of language.
