Lorenzo De Finti Quartet – Mysterium Lunae

Music

Lorenzo De Finti piano, Alberto Mandarini trumpet, Stefano Dall'Ora double bass, Marco Castiglioni drums.

Mysterium Lunae is the title of the quartet's third album , derived from an ancient metaphor coined by theologians of the early Christian centuries, apt to describe how a cold, barren object can mysteriously become a source of poignant beauty by reflecting a greater light from elsewhere (The Mystery of the Moon).

Hence the Quartet's sense of peace, dense evocative emotionality and iridescent sonority, built on a solid foundation of thoughtful writing, open sound and rich color, all combined with a harmonic atmosphere of an undeniably European nature.
