METAMORPHOSIS DANCE Al Desnudo

The birth of the Metamorphosis Dance company is recent, but the two founders have great artistic experience: Spanish Iratxe Ansa and Italian Igor Bacovich (of Slavic origin) are a couple of art and life.

Together they lead, create, dance for Metamorphosis Dance, an artistic project where their experiences find an idyllic synthesis and where the process and the way choreography is made are more important than the doing tout court. Bearers of a rigorous language, extremely physical, abstract yet lyrical, Iratxe and Igor in their most recent duet Al desnudo (Nude), which premiered at the Teatros del Canal in Madrid in 2020, swing in the intensity of movement revealing their 'artistic bodies'.

A 'dynamic laboratory' - as they like to call it - that starts from a classic duet and then grows in a process of deconstruction that lays bare the plot and mechanisms of creation. The lights and images created by artist Daniel Moroni wrap the bodies in suggestive atmospheres.

“Al desnudo brings together everything that interests us: art, fashion, installation and image. Ours is a fairly explicit physical language. Al desnudo shows two dancers who are also choreographers giving all their all on stage. For us, the pursuit of excellence is something that never ends. Continue research is what amuses us. Our passion leads us to always want to improve and demand more of ourselves. We don’t know how to work any other way” ( Iratxe Ansa)
