The transformation into a soldier of the porter Galy Gay, the protagonist of this play written by Brecht in 1926, on the theme of the interchangeability of human identity, also passes through the assumption of caricatures of the comic archetype of the miles gloriosus.

His bragging about having killed thousands of Sikhs and the threat of self-castration cannot but recall the warlike exaggerations and the threat of punishment to which the Plautus' Pirgopolinx is subjected.
