Meeting on Petrarch's Canzoniere
Curated by Giorgio Ficara, honoured literary critic and professor at the University of Turin

Professor Ficara will talk about the importance, modernity and beauty of Petrarch's Canzoniere, which combines the best tradition of classical humanism (Seneca, Cicero) and the new emergence of the individual consciousness.
The latter is in fact the revolutionary mark of a poetry of "sublime harmony" (Contini), which has been holding an appeal for centuries until today, in Italy and throughout the West.
