MISCHA MAISKY

Johann Sebastian Bach’s third and fifth Cello Suites form the centrepiece of this concert by one of the greatest living cellists. Born in Riga, Latvia, and winner of the highly prestigious Tchaikovsky Competition in 1966, Mischa Maisky has had a brilliant concert career which has taken him all round the world. Celebrated far and wide for his stylistic versatility and technical virtuosity, he has also played with other highly renowned musicians such as Gidon Kremer, Matha Argerich and Yuri Bashmet.
