Music for Arte Sella: the Solisti Aquilani with Mario Brunello, Vinicio Capossela, Stefano Nanni

From art in nature to art for nature

Music
Mario Brunello

Events such as Sounds of the Dolomites seem to find a magical synthesis between landscape, nature and the ethereal matter that become ideas and creativity. A profound connection that is inspiration but also a debt of gratitude. And so, for this Festival preview, musicians like Mario Brunello, Vinicio Capossela and I Solisti Aquilani join forces for a concert that will mark a new beginning for a landscape damaged by the fury of storm Vaia and the rebirth of Arte Sella.

Nature and beauty will be the main theme running through this event’s musical programme. I Solisti Aquilani with first violin Daniele Orlando, who symbolise the rebirth of the town of Aquila, will play a section of Vivaldi’s famous Four Seasons, a hymn to nature’s atavistic rhythms. Mario Brunello will perform Maurice Ravel’s Pavane pour une infante défunte transcribed by Stefano Nanni, who wrote the arrangements and was called upon for the occasion to conduct the orchestra.

Vinicio Capossela will present a selection from his repertoire of songs in dialogue with the string ensemble, followed by a recital in conversation with Mario Brunello of some of Michelangelo’s sonnets dedicated to beauty.
