The General is a 1926 American silent comedy film. It was inspired by the Great Locomotive Chase, a true story of an event that occurred during the American Civil War. With its sequence of visual gags, paradoxical situations and impossible ventures, it is now often ranked among the greatest American films ever made.
Marco Dalpane, author specialised in music composition for silent movies, has created the musical accompaniment for The General and the Musica del Buio ensemble performs it.
