Not in my planet

exhibition , Photographic exhibition

A series of photographs by award-winning photographer Mandy Barker; her pictures have a great visual impact, and portray waste - escaped from recycling - ended up in the sea and finally on the coast.

Barker's aim is to capture our attention and make us reflect on one of the main problems of our days: plastic pollution in the world's oceans, and the incredible abundance of waste. The exhibition is the result of the collaboration with the Waste Management Service of the Autonomous Province of Trento, to fight against plastic pollution.

The exhibition consists of four sections: Shoal, Soup, Indefinitive and Snow Flurry in which the artist stimulates an emotional response in the viewer by combining a contradiction between initial aesthetic attraction along with the subsequent message of awareness.

The images are reworked, and are based on photographs of objects which were found on the beaches or drifting in the ocean.
